january favourites

Hi there! :)

January's been an awesome month, having spent half of it overseas and the other half in the beautiful heat and summer of Sydney. And it was my birthday. If you can't tell, I love warmth and get cold awfully easily, so me and winter don't go well together.

Anywho, today I'll share with you some of my favourites things from this month! Hopefully I can try make this a monthly thing.

  • Cute stationery in preparation for back to school
  • Glitter polishes. Especially chunky ones, or ones with heaps of different shapes and colours.
  • A little watch necklace. Makes a nice accessory, but also handy in telling the time!
  • Paw paw lipbalm and EOS. I like to apply the paw paw one on my lips before I sleep, as they're always cracked! T_T
  • Fineliners for drawing. When I first found the 0.05 mm one, I was amazed that a pen could draw so finely.
  • My new Kikki K 2015 planner, to keep me organised and my life in check.

Looking Back on January~
The Best Thing
Travelling around China and Hong Kong, and experiencing the culture and lifestyle of foreign places.

The Hardest Thing
Staying alive in the cold weather, whilst being jealous of all my friends enjoying their summer's in the sunshiney Sydney! xD

One Lesson I Learned
The amount of people in this world is incredible, and the fact that each and every single human has a life story to tell shows us that life is wonderfully exciting :D

One New Thing I Tried
Saying stuff in Cantonese. Didn't work.

What I've Been Listening to

What I've Been Watching
Big Hero 6. Someone please find me my own Baymax. *hint hint* Judy it was my birthday recently... *nudge nudge wink wink* xD

Goal for February
Get back into the school routine, and do well in all my subjects.

What have you been loving this month? :)

recent reads || january

Hello everyone!

It's Judy here, with another monthly book-tastic post! Me and Lena will be taking turns each month to tell you all about the books we've been getting into recently.

Loving the contrast between the two covers!

Mockingjay (from the Hunger Games series) - Suzanne Collins ★★★★☆
As a fan of the Hunger Games, it was kind of sad to read the last book knowing that the extraordinary adventure that you've experienced will end once you turn the last page. But nevertheless, the novel was packed with action as well as tear-jerking moments. *four note whistle*

House Rules - Jodi Picoult ★★★★★
I love how most of Picoult's books are written with different point of views, and this one is no exception. You really get to see inside of the characters minds and try to figure out the mystery yourself!

Girl Online - Zoe Sugg, Siobhan Curham ★★★☆☆
Note: I know Lena has already done a review on this book, but I thought I'd just chuck it in and write what I thought about it :)
So there's been a lot of controversy on who actually wrote the book, but we'll put that to the side for the moment. Girl Online is the typical teenage romance novel where the socially awkward girl meets the hot, mysterious boy and fall in love. It is very cliché, but don't we all enjoy a "lovey dovey" book once in a while?

The Scorch Trials (from the Maze Runner series) - James Dashner ★★★☆☆
Continuing my journey into the wonderful land of mazes and deadly diseases (note sarcasm), I was more than eager to continue reading. Yes, this book was filled with action and very hard obstacles (e.g. replace the maze with a hot, dry desert this time), but I didn't enjoy it as much as The Maze Runner. Maybe it's because of the new array of characters introduced, or the fact that there are no more grievers... I'm not really sure.

Make sure to check out Goodreads for more books n' stuff!

Now go venture out into the world and read a book!

my new year resolutions

YESSSS! 2015 IS FINALLY HERE!

A new year always means a new start, and new beginnings mean new goals. I personally love making goals, as they give me something to work towards and to always try and improve. So, today I'll share with you some of my new year resolutions. I'll probably not achieve all of these , but it's always fun to chuck in a few unrealistic ones in there xD Hopefully you'll be inspired to make your own list!

I resolve to...

• Visit Hogwarts
• Be more organised: use a planner, schedules and to do lists, and actually STICK to them for once!
• Make more original and creative polymer clay charms
• DON'T PROCRASTINATE!!! When I get homework, don't stuff it in the bottom of my massive school bag and leave it to deteriorate with all the other junk in there...
• Use up more candles. Yep, kind of random, but I have too many!
• Listen to a broader range of music. i.e. deviate from the top charts for once.
• Actually REPLY to emails and messages, instead of glancing at them, then forgetting them instantly
• Be a better listener and not fall asleep in class
• Actually DO my maths homework....
• Go to new places.
• Spend less money. Get some self restraint Lena!
• Eat healthier. (Ha, as if that'll ever happen!)
• Get fitter.
• Read more books, and go to the library more. And read a bigger variety as well. Yes Lena, time to leave your little head full of chick flicks and cliches, and learn new stuff!
• Stop making insults at everyone!
• Do something for the community and volunteer somewhere. Hopefully the library.
• Get my head out of technology. Yes, that means less time watching YouTube and movies and scrolling Instagram and the like.
• Blog more! I've decided to dedicate myself to blogging and into making more creative and interesting content: D

Hope you enjoyed my list, which comprised of a lot of capital letters, exclamation marks and the general vibe that I'm yelling at myself. Because I kind of am xD

If you make your own list, be sure to let me know your main points in the comments down below :)

Stay fabulous!
Lena xx
